Snowy Bush Macro Monday

I was walking down the hill to take photos of the spectacular clouds at dusk and when I turned around I saw a monster coyote bush had been flocked. Really, that's what it looked like. One half plain, the other half flocked.

So I got really close to it and realized it was just in flower and in seed. I also realized that the dozens of little birds and other animals hiding in there were sending out fraidy vibes. So I backed away slowly.

Go forth and propagate coyote bush.

Thanks to Lisa for hosting. Thanks to everyone who visits. Thanks world for being so weird.

High-end Macro Monday

Atmospheric disturbance have made it difficult to download photos to the blog, and patience is not my middle name. I had a paper carrier who would write long notes especially around Christmas that said things like, "Please be patients when I am running late."

So Macro Monday is on a Tuesday, my fellow patients. It's a close-up of a little card promoting a High-end Japanese beer, better known as the dude with the fish, and if you visit my Flickr on the sidebar, you'll see what we ate. So good! I also mentioned it on my other blog

Also if you visit Flickr, you might notice that I'm a "pro" now. Sure anyone can be a pro. All it cost is money. I gave myself a present, so I can access my own photos and bypass Blogger photo upload. Thanks Amanda for sharing.

Thanks to wild and crazy Lisa and her way too close photos for hosting Macro Monday.

O Christmas Tree Lot Macro Monday

These were shot quickly without much set up, and in the setting sun so without much light as well. I know they're not the greatest, yet sometimes I'm amazed that anything turns out even slightly in focus. Thanks to Lisa and her gang of macro hunters

Happy December everyone!

Ropes: Macro Monday

Handmade ropes on the Nina replica ship that was visiting a bay near us. My camera froze up in the open position in the first minutes we were on board, and I nearly freaked out. "OMG I need a macro for Monday, " I screeched internally. I finally pulled the battery out and put it back in. Problem solved.

Don't you wish you could do that to yourself on occasion.

 Thanks for hosting Chaotic Lisa!

Marco Monday: Si's Profile

This blurry photo is a close up of Si's fuzzy chin. Although I am a beginner to this macro stuff, even I know the idea is to take *clear* pictures of teeny tiny things. (You may correct me if I'm wrong about that.) But I just love this picture because it's precisely what I see when he gets too close. Plus look at that darling bump on his nose. Hosted by Lisa. Visit her website right now.
