If I were a clog, I'd clog in the morning

My latest obsession is clogs.

Like a hoof - a clog knows how to ka-lunck.

Old album covers are rad too.

These clogs have knots.

These clogs have buckles.

This cat is not a clog.

Fly Me To The Moon

The challenge is to LOOK UP this month of May at NaBloPoMo, and I have been interpreting this as "things are looking up" as in "it's not my birthday month anymore." But not today. Because today is ....

Sink-O de Mayo(nnaise). Happy Happy to All !!!

I think it was about 87 degrees when I left work today, so Sun Roof Open.

LOOK UP!

Five things I've accomplished on my vacation

  1. I figured out how to transfer my vinyl album music (much of it is classical) to my iPod using my new Crosley turntable. Love their retro stuff.
  2. I received Hammacher Schlemmer sound oasis for my birthday, and it's my new favorite thing. The ocean or the forest, I'm there, baby.
  3. I changed the part in my hair. I've had an always and forever over-my-right-eye side part. Well, just for kicks, I changed it to my widow's peak, which has been white since I was 25 years old. Yep I hid the "gray." Now I'm flaunting it! Sort of. I still have a dot of white in the middle of head that I hide. I've had that from birth. When hairdresser people point it out, I tell them it's where the aliens probed me as a baby. (And I believe it too.)
  4. I tried (and failed miserably) to make a multi-color felt dodecahedron pincushion. I will try again.
  5. Redecorated the bedroom, I did, and it looks very modern harem. I used a Moroccan-like pattern in cool blues and greens, just right for the hot weather ahead. And the bathroom had mini-makeover as well.

A Cabinet: Photostory Friday

Foreword: I spent most of Friday trying to download these pictures. I must say I haven't cussed that much in quite awhile. So today it worked, sort of.

The cabinet you see here was a special order. It was meant for a tv or clothes yet was unfinished. The cabinet maker is/was an old man and offered to make the cabinet serve our intentions. The finish was important, of course.

And as such, the mister wanted something special and was sold on a deep purple. I wasn't involved and only later became involved for storage purposes. Am I being too vague? Well tough.

Be it known that the whole deal was the mister's department. I stood on the sidelines.

And waited.

And waited.

Where is it? I would ask.

And waited.

Finally he called and found out the old cabinet maker had had a stroke.

Years rolled by.

The old cabinet maker survives !!! and finishes the purple monster, and GET THIS delivers it himself!!!! to our country home via his old pick-up truck.

A special order LP Record Album Cabinet.
Way cool.

Peace & Love

Happy Birthday Ringo Starr, wherever you are!

I wouldn't classify Ringo as one of my favorite Beatles, yet I guess he has been at one time. I guess all The Beatles have been a favorite from time to time. George has been my overall favorite for all times though. "The Dark One" as he has been named. I just like his music the best, and interestingly enough, George co-wrote "Photograph" with Ringo, and "Photograph" is one of my favorites of Ringo.

How do I know those details? Who wrote what way back when? Well, it is really too hot in my neck of the woods to do anything but Google. And my craft projects are fafa not working out right now. So now I'm an expert about Ringo (See ringostarr.com and you can be an expert too.) Notice I didn't link.

I don't think I've ever seen a former Beatles in concert. I have my chance with Mr. Starkey though. Check out his lineup this summer.

Road trip to Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino anyone. I've never been to a (almost said Indian) Native American Gambling Resort. I wonder if it's true, if they are like a mini-Las Vegas.

Anyway, the real reason for this post is that I know it's Ringo's birthday because my BF's sister was a Ringo fan and she knew when it was his B-day, and so since then I have it etched in my little brain that seven/seven is Ringo's birthday.

And in 1987 (many many years later from my girl power pool conversation in the early 1970s on "Who' s the best Beatle?), me and Mr. Red (honestly I don't know what to call him, I mean he used to be red, now he's sort of white.) went on a trip and we ended up at the Chiricahua,
and we had been camping for awhile at that point, and something happens to you when you have been camping for a month (not in one place - we moved around every three days). You go crazy!

So on 7/7/87, we were camping somewhere deep in a canyon in Chiricahua, which bytheway is home to Geronimo, an Apache, and i says to him (not Geronimo but Mr. Red) as the sun does set.

I says, "Hey, it's Ringo's birthday!"

And he says, "Let's sing all his songs!"

And I says, "Okay!"

And we preceded.

I think the spirits of Chiricahua Apaches were moved. And soon we were surrounded by the all the free-ranging cattle within a 20 square mile area who were also moved and mooing.

"You're sixteen, so beautiful and you're mine - all mine - all mine - all MOOOO!"

Out.

And The Bells Rang...

A storm came in right around the time I got the mail. These four sycamores might lose all their leaves tonight.
I cooked beef stew today, such a comfort food, and I decided to have a salad for dessert.
The garden is looking good. Leeks and carrots are under the white cloth. The lettuces are covered up too. (It has gotten to 22 degrees at night.) But the peas are on their own.

I put up the lights on the tree while listening to carols. I'm really liking Alicia's playlist.
It was Christmas Everywhere!
