Elk

Some days I feel so blessed. I live in a beautiful area abundant with wildlife and open space. And now with the days so short, when I come home from work, it's just about sunset - a time when many animals are active.

These elk come around this time of year. I believe they were reintroduced after being hunted to near extinction. This group is one male and his harem, about 15 females. They were much closer to the road when I first started snapping pictures, but of course those came out blurry.
